Built by one developer. For learners who deserve better.
ProWord isn't a venture-backed app with a marketing department. It's the work of one person who got tired of vocabulary apps that gamify everything except remembering.

The story
Oleksii Mykhalchuk is an iOS developer from Zaporizhzhia, Ukraine. After years building apps used by millions, he moved abroad and started learning Croatian — a language almost no app takes seriously.
The big apps drip-fed him sentences. Anki worked, but its algorithm felt like homework about homework. The AI apps were thin shells with no real learning science underneath. So he built the app he wanted: precise spaced repetition, real example sentences, and a tutor with a sense of humour.
ProWord is the result. It's small, fast, native, and shaped by feedback rather than a roadmap drawn in a boardroom.
Why these four languages
Ukrainian is Oleksii's native language. English and Spanish he learned himself — and genuinely loves. Croatian came with the move: he lives in Croatia now and is learning it the same way you would. Four languages he has a personal stake in — not four picked off a market-size chart.
What ProWord stands for
Native-built
Swift on iOS, Kotlin on Android. No cross-platform lag, no web view pretending to be an app.
Transparent about data
Sign in with Apple or Google, analytics and crash reports to fix bugs — all spelled out in the privacy policy. Your account is yours to delete, and nothing is ever sold.
Honest by default
Real prices, real limits, real reviews. No fake urgency, no "trusted by millions" before it's true.
We shipped, we listened, we changed
An early version asked you to keep CatDog "fed" and "happy" — a Tamagotchi-style meter. Learners found it confusing: why does my pet's mood depend on my Spanish? So it was cut. In its place: the roadmap of islands, where progress is simply the words you've practiced. Shipping the wrong thing isn't failure. Refusing to fix it would be.
